Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Show up for a dive soon and you will be gaining experience in our local waters. Welcome aboard.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. I see the surf has increased slightly over yesterday and the w/e, running 2-3+ feet as I write this. The surf zone is wider than it was over the w/e. Viz should be in the 10-20 feet range. As Louis mentioned in yesterday's email, we were really surprised at the number of large male Sheephead out there. After we compared notes on the dive, we all agreed the Lobster population is exploding and thus the Sheephead are too and the amount of Urchins is decreasing, here at Heisler Park. I found an Abalone shell too, I want to hope it wasn't poached but died of some natural cause. In the shallows of the inner reef we saw a lot of small Sting Rays and some saw small Bat Rays too. So Heisler Park is in very good health in my opinion. I would think that Deadman's population on Moray's, Lobster and Octopus is on the increase now that Laguna has been protected for over a year now.

Our plans for Saturday. The forecast for later this week has rain in it. So we will see how the week progresses. Stay tuned...

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
