Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. When conditions get better, show up for a scheduled dive. Welcome aboard.

Current conditions for diving around Laguna Beach. Well, light rain is here, not much for S OC, but it is here. The heaviest rain is due in tonight. As for diving, the swell models show 4-6 feet of surf. The live cams show similar surf and this is not really safe for divers with 80-90 lbs of gear on. Even if you made it out there, VIZ will be bad, at 2-6 feet. So "Not recommended" for today for beach diving.

Our plans don't look good right now. Since I am still making some adjustments to the SCD txt msg system, I will send out a msg to those who have signed up, most likely saying we cancelled our dive. But the idea here is to tell people who have signed up where we are diving in Laguna, once we get there. But since rain is light today and expected to get much heavier, this w/e doesn't look good for diving. If you want to check the County's water quality site for rain advisories and such, go here: http://ocbeachinfo.com/ This way, at least you'll know what the County is recommending. Keep checking throughout the day today and tomorrow, bookmark it too. Rain advisories generally last for 3 days AFTER it stops raining.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
