Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Show up for a scheduled dive soon and you too can be gaining experience diving our local waters. Welcome aboard.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. Fog again. Yesterday I kept an eye on the live cams and the fog never lifted at all. I was rather surprised by that, I hadn't seen that in quite a long time. As for today, with the fog, usually that means very low surf and the swell models reflect that, along with no wind. VIZ? Well that should be getting better and better. So for today, VIZ should be in the 10-20 feet range today. Surf running 1-2 feet.

Javy sent me this dive report from last night's dive at Wood's Cove:
Last night's dive at Wood's was fantastic! It was one of the best night dives of the year for Woods. When Mike and I got there Woods looked like a swimming pool but very foggy, it looked like something from a movie "The Fog", before the dive we set a flashing beacon on shore for a landmark. As for the dive lots of marine life, Leopard shark, Moray Eels, Octopus, Horn sharks, bugs, etc. it was great!! I'm hoping conditions stay the same for tonight's Mountain Ave. dive without the fog. Water 53°. Viz 18-20ft, surf 0.5 no Surge!!
Now you know why I said viz should be pretty good today. Remember that Javy is diving Mountain Ave TONIGHT and you should be there at 7:00 PM if you want to join his group. Let me know if you need to drop him an email.

Our plans look good right now. Even with the fog, viz should be good, even if it appears to be a bit dark u/w. I find I don't carry a dive light on a day dive and you'd be surprised how your eyes get used to the low light conditions, plus the creatures don't go hide because you are not blinding them with a dive light. So have your gear ready for Saturday.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
