Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Show up for a scheduled dive soon and you'll be gaining experience diving in our local water by diving with other divers who will share their diving experience with you. Welcome aboard.

Well, on Saturday, the modern technology didn't work as I wanted it, my cell phone couldn't establish a data connection while we were in Laguna. Once I got back to our area, I was able to send out the "We canceled our dive" TxtMsg. I have since figured out the issue with the phone, by digging into what it means when it says "Disconnected because the radio was turned off", turns out there is a "Bug" in my phone in the power settings. Ahhh, modern technologies & HTC cell phones.... As Louis mentioned, we canceled our dive plans at the beach on Saturday, due to the 3-5+ feet of surf. I did read a dive report, probably from the guys we saw go out, they said the viz was up to 12 feet at Deadman's. But entry/exit wasn't worth it and it was really choppy out there. The LBLG's report said viz was bad with 3-5 feet of surf, yet the beaches were open to diving on Saturday, I found that interesting, I guess I will never be able to predict when they will close the beaches in Laguna to diving.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. The swell & surf appears to be dropping down to 1-3 feet. This should help viz and that should be in the 10 feet range. I would still wait a day or two before going out.

Our plans are for Saturday. There is rain in the forecast, but depending on which forecast I see/read it could rain on Saturday or sometime Sunday & Monday. We will have to "Wait & see".

I also found it interesting that on the SCD live cam page, the Wyland live cam almost has "Night vision". At night, the cam still can see the surf and the image is in black & white. So that could help you when trying to see the surf for a night dive, before you go. So we also have tools for night dives in Laguna, check that out next time you are online at night and curious about surf in Laguna Beach.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
