Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. All you need to do is to show up for a scheduled dive soon and you too can gain experience in our local waters. Welcome aboard.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. GET YOUR DIVE IN NOW... Surf is flat and viz looks pretty good, BUT, it is not going to stay this way, no matter how much I want it to. The various swell forecasts and the news is forecasting a large swell later today, exceeding 5-7 feet for South facing beaches. Grrr... I was trying very hard to stay optimistic for diving. Viz right now should be 15-20+ feet and surf is running mainly 1-2 feet. I will call the LBLG's report later to see what they say. But the live cams and the swell models look good, for this AM.

Our plans will hinge on the S swell. Stay tuned, I am trying to be optimistic.

Yesterday I saw several news reports about some guy catching a 13 foot female Mako Shark.... I wish these people would do a catch & release on these large Makos. They are considered "Vulnerable" on the species list and it is legal in CA to take them, although when I read about them on the DFW site that they don't have a lot of about the migratory patterns. But another large female shark removed from being able to reproduce. It just bugs me is all. If you knew how they kill these once they catch them, you would be horrified too. My opinion for today.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
