Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. When conditions get better, simply show up for a scheduled dive and you too can gain experience in our local waters. Welcome aboard.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. "DON'T GO", I can't emphasize that enough. This AM surf is breaking 5-6+ feet already and it is supposed to get worse. The news media reported this S swell is caused by a storm off New Zealand. The interesting part about this is in Laguna I've noticed large surf like this causes its own weather down there. It can stay overcast because of the amount of water in the air. Move away from the beach and it can clear right up. So if you are down at the beach, use your camera to get shots of the big surf, from a safe distance. Yesterday morning, the LBLG's had the flag as Yellow, which is not good for diving. Today, I would expect that diving is closed in the city limits. The LBLG's usually update their recording around 10 AM or so. 949.494.6573 for the recording.

Our plans for tomorrow are TOAST. Instead, we will look forward to next weekend. I will also send out a TxtMsg for that too. So if you are on that list expect a cancelation msg. If you can handle the rough ride to Catalina, some of the dive boats should find decent dive spots (If they go out), but even Avalon is getting 2 footers which is not good for the dive park. PV doesn't even look good. IF you find a dive spot to dive, drop me a dive report. Stay safe & dry this w/e.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
