Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Feel free to join up with us on a scheduled dive soon. Welcome aboard.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. Well, I called the LBLG's recording yesterday. Even though the swell models showed 3+ feet of surf in the morning, they said 4-6 feet and yet no mention of diving being closed in City limits. So I was rather confused to say the least. They did say diving conditions were poor with 6-8 feet of viz and large surf. In the afternoon, the live cams showed surf in the 6+ feet range easily, so it got worse as the day went on. Today looks similar to yesterday. It appears to me the surf looks almost doable for really experienced beach divers. Although the viz should be around than 6-10 feet or less. That is only because the surf and viz has been bad for most of the week and we need some 1-2 foot surf for the viz to have a chance to stabilize at better than 10 feet of surf. So for this morning it looks like 3+ feet of surf and less than 10 feet of viz.

Our plans are AGAIN cancelled for tomorrow. Louis & I have been doing email and here is what Louis said, "Yes, we'll have to cancel again. Or we can go to Heisler Park and roll our gear around in the sand. Then go home and clean it. It's the same, right?" What a great way to put it. But I will also add, on our last dive we had 5 new divers and it wasn't a good day for new people, higher surf and bad viz. So if you are new to diving Laguna, my recommendation would be to rethink going into the water until it gets better out there. If you head out this w/e, Sunday should be better than tomorrow, drop me a dive report. We'll look forward to next Saturday instead.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
