Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Show up for a dive soon and you can have buddies to dive with at the same time gaining experience in our local waters. Welcome aboard.

Current diving conditions around Laguna Beach. "Fair". I got a dive report from Paul who said he dove Shaw's on Monday night. He said viz was around 10 feet and lots of particulate in the water. But what I found interesting was he said this,"...saw a leopard shark in there that was suffering from some foreign ring-like object stuck around neck and digging into flesh...almost caught the poor thing to free it..Be on the lookout for the shark and use shears to remove object...it's weakened..about 18 inch shark." Thanks Paul. So divers, be on the lookout for a Leopard Shark not doing well. I have heard stories about how those plastic rings from paper boxes get on larger Sharks, this sounds like something similar, so if you see it and can get a hold of it safely, remove it and possibly the Shark will survive.

Our plans. We "Used to" dive on Thanksgiving morning, the Fri & Sat afterwards. But since the economy has had its problems, the lack of interest cancelled that years ago. I see in the forecasts that now the possibility of rain has dropped to 10% because the storm offshore is swinging away from the coast. Stay tuned, but WE could be diving on Saturday. So SCD only has a Saturday dive planned right now. IF we don't get rain on Thu/Fri we will be diving on Sat. I expect viz to be 20+ feet and surf 1-2 feet.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
