Good morning Divers!!!
I hope everyone had a good holiday. I was on a half day fishing boat on Friday. The swells were running 4+ feet and the water closer to shore had really bad viz and of course, out there, you could see the runoff from the creeks. But if you got far enough off shore, say 70+ feet of water, viz actually looked really good, 30+ feet at times.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. As of this email, the County has not lifted the rain advisory, although I expect that today. Viz? I have no idea right now, but it should be getting better at 15-20+ feet with 1-3 feet of surf. I would give it another day for better viz and lower surf, but that is just my opinion.

Tell you, IF I want a lot of email all I got to do is to say conditions aren't very good and people send me email saying "20-25 feet of viz at Shaw's". But what concerned me the most was the dive reports were ONLY from Shaw's Cove. Don't you guys dive elsewhere?? But when I looked at the live cam and swell models, it did not look good.

Our plans are for Saturday. I don't see rain in the forecast and viz should be getting better all week. Stay tuned.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
