Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers, show up for a scheduled dive soon. Welcome aboard.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. I saw the swell models this AM and I thought it looked really good, all dark blue for our area, but it was on the 2 foot scale. Still, this means the area is all in the 1-2 foot range for surf, this is good. Since the County lifted the rain advisory yesterday around 9 AM, this means it is ok to return to the water. So viz today should be in the 20+ feet range.

Most of you know I do not recommend or dive during a rain advisory based on my own past experiences, but if you do dive during such an advisory, be sure you have some way to clean your ears out after the dive. I take a bottle of rubbing alcohol and add a few tablespoons of white vinegar. Put a few drops in each ear, hold it for a bit, and then drain it out. The alcohol kills whatever could be in your ear and the vinegar keeps your eardrum from drying out. A good solution during a bad situation. I just hate having a head cold that can last for months and diving in a rain advisory is a big factor in that.

Our plans are for Saturday. Yesterday I said I did not see rain in the forecast, I saw the news, but then on my way to work, the radio news was saying 30% chance (Yesterday). OK, what's the deal? On the TV news this am, there is a chance of rain on Saturday. I will follow this and see how it pans out later this week. Stay tuned.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
