Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Just show up for a scheduled dive soon and you will have plenty of buddies to dive with and gain experience in our local waters from those who already have that and are willing to share that with you. Welcome aboard.

Current diving conditions around Laguna Beach. After the great conditions we had at Deadman's Reef on Saturday, it looks very good out there. There has been a slight increase in surf, but since it comes out of the W, Laguna gets protected by Catalina, so surf is running 1-2+ feet. Viz looks like it is remaining the same at 20-35+ feet. With no rain in the forecast, you should be diving.

Our plans are for Saturday. I have been asked about diving tomorrow, Jan 1. I have an idea for you, if you don't stay up too late tonight. Dive some place where diving isn't done very often. I knew someone who every Jan 1, they would dive early (7 am) at the Newport Pier. The pier is usually empty on Jan 1, so you shouldn't have issues with fishermen. Make sure you bring a goodie bag, not for game collecting, but for scavenging. I have not done this dive, but from what I've heard, Jan 1 is a great day to collect the stuff that falls off the pier all year long. Wallets, fishing gear, watches, the list is endless. Plus, at one time, there was a street car that was placed under the pier many years ago, I don't know what remains of it, but do a Google search to find out more about it. So remember SCD does not have any plans for tomorrow, but we are diving on Saturday.

Special congratulations to Louis, who just got married, drop him a "Congrats" soon.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
