Good morning Divers!!!

Begin Time: 9:11 am
Time: 48 min
Max Dept: 50ft
Temp: 60 F
Visibility: 40 feet
Conditions: Salt water, shore dive, high tide, small waves, surge.
Dive Buddies: Total 35.

Thirty Five people showed up at the mall. Reports of good visibility and good conditions got people out of their beds and ready for a dive. The group
was so big that we split the group up into 3. One group headed to Montage, another to Heisler Park and my group went to Crescent Bay to dive
Deadman's Reef.

When we arrived, the ocean was very calm and glassy. We suited up and headed into the water. It took a while for the group to get all together and
when we were, we dropped down and headed to the reef.

We reached the reef and I swam around the reef in a clockwise motion. When we reached the end, I headed into the canyon. There's a lot of
Sargassum weed and I'm hoping it will be pushed out by the kelp. The kelp is getting thick in the canyon and it made it hard to swim through the
canyon. We circled around and I noticed the California Sheephead concentrate in one area. Just a small area and they are all swimming around it.

Some people started got to the half way point on their tanks and I sent them back to shore. The others followed me around for a bit more and then I
lost them. I started to head back and my ears wouldn't equalize anymore and I had to swim back at 30 feet. But with the good visibility I was able to
see Deadhenge below me and then the sand. I swam all the way into shore in about 5 feet of water and saw the majority of the group was waiting.
Another group exited the water after me.

We met at Husky Boy's and many of the different groups compared notes. The Montage group had about 20 feet of visibility and the Heisler Park group
got around 35 feet. Today was an excellent day of diving and those that didn't dive really missed out.

Here's Paul's report from Montage:
The dive went well just as we arrived everyone was leaving and parking was empty.

There ended being 12 people in total that came with us 1 in error.

Visibility around 30ft possible more in some places. We followed the reef around till it became shallow and then headed out to the center of the bay. At
around 20 min the group separated and some went back. Dewey, James and myself followed the reef around and headed to the far side of treasure
Island. There some interesting formations here and lost of life including. Leopard shark and hundreds of lobsters. We headed back to the beach and
exited at treasure island beach.

Was a nice dive possible not such good vis but not bad. The max depth was not much over 30 ft and dive time around 1hr. Everyone made it back
without issue and all reported a good dive.

I think it was best that the group was split as there were too many people for parking a crescent bay.
