Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Just join us for a dive soon, conditions permitting. Welcome aboard.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. Yesterday I said it would probably be the best day of the week for a dive. I received a dive report from Frank who said viz at Shaw's was 15-25 feet with 1-3 feet of surf. Today might be the last day before the surf gets big from the forecasts I've read. So can you get a dive in while the conditions might be holding? As I said yesterday, just make good decisions out there. Up in the Venice area, I've already heard of a swimmer who died yesterday in the surf due to rip tides. So surf is picking up along the beaches.

Our plans for tomorrow. Louis & I talked about this yesterday, we are going to cancel. With the surf expected to be 6+ feet around the area, that is just too big and viz be too low to even consider a dive. Since Laguna faces S, I would expect surf over the w/e to be 3-6+ feet and viz less than 10 feet. But if you decide to go out, I only ask you to listen to that little voice inside your head, if it tells you that's big surf or doesn't look good, cancel and dive another day. Remember we can dive year round here. So SCD will instead focus on next Saturday.

Have a good holiday w/e.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
