Good morning Divers!!!
Current scuba diving conditions in Laguna Beach. We have very high tides along with higher surf than ideal for diving. Add those together and the viz should be 10-20 feet. Since the tidal change between high & low is over 7 feet, that is a lot of water movement, thus reduced viz. I said 10-20 feet because it appears that viz is all over the place. Bijan sent me a dive report from Reef Point and on Saturday he said viz was 20-30 feet, yet many parts of Laguna had 8-15 feet of viz. But surf over the w/e was 'Manageable' but not recommended for new beach divers. I read a few reports about "You really had to time your entry & exit..." So I feel we made the correct choice because the "Is it worth it" factor wasn't good for us. Today, I will don't recommend going out unless you have a lot of Laguna diving experience, just one of those days.

I also read a report from Mike who said he saw and got pictures of a Sea Turtle at Deadman's Reef, so Mike, I'd like to see that one, I'll put it up in the SCD gallery if that's ok. That's what I like, 'Proof'.

Our plans are for Saturday. A big swell is here until Thursday along with the tidal changes. But we'll see how it looks for the next few days. So stay tuned.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
