Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Show up for a scheduled dive soon, conditions permitting. Welcome aboard.

My recap from Saturday. Louis said it right, if you did not dive, you really missed out. With viz between 30-40+ feet and the large schools of fish, Sargo are the fish Louis spoke of, we had a very good dive. It was interesting watching the behavior of a school of fish when we got a bit too close for their liking, they went in different directions only to school up again about 20-30 feet away. The group I was with went so far over the back of Deadman's that it took us a long time to come back underwater. It seemed we kept crossing sand then reef, then sand then reef... We were almost back to the inner reefs when we surfaced in 35+ feet of water, I prefer coming all the way back in, but it was worth it. The sea live is really incredible out at Deadman's Reef, along with great viz. I did read a dive report from the afternoon that said viz was 10-15 feet there, so there must have been quite a change after the high tide which was around 11:30. There was a lot of water movement, we could feel the currents pushing us around on the surface and below. But a great dive.

Current conditions in Laguna Beach. I noticed the swell was up yesterday and today the scales are on the 2 foot scale and showing Laguna getting 3-5 feet of surf, so less than ideal. Does that make the viz go way down? I'll say viz will be 10-20 feet. I don't see rain in the forecast right now, so that's good. If you head out, drop me a dive report.

Our plans are for Saturday. Stay tuned.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
