Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Show up for a scheduled dive and you'll have plenty of others to dive with. Welcome aboard. I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend too.

Current scuba diving conditions in Laguna Beach. What is the mariners term... "Batten down the hatches"? Looks like those El Nino storms are starting to move in. I remember in the 80's that my thinking was, "Well, I'm going to get wet anyway, let's go diving..." That was long before "I learned" it's not the viz or even if the surf is low, it's the water quality, the stuff inland ends up at our beaches. I expect the county to issue a rain advisory sometime around 8-9 AM today. For the record, surf is running 2-4+ feet right now, expected to get higher as the storm arrives from thee west. Viz? Forget about it... 10 feet and less. Now before people get on my case about Saturday's diving viz. On Friday I received quite a few dive reports saying viz was 20-25 feet. But by Saturday the viz dropped down to 10 feet and according to bystanders, the surf looked flatter on Sat over Fri, so "It should have been..." What can I say? It wasn't very good, so much for being optimistic.

Our plans for Saturday.... Well, doesn't look good and it's only Tuesday. Stay tuned. Just remember the county's rain advisory lasts for 3 days AFTER it stops raining.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
