Good morning Divers!!!
Current scuba diving conditions in Laguna Beach. I wouldn't. I'll keep that simple this morning. High surf means low viz and possibly a dangerous surf zone too. Surf this morning is already in the 4-6+ feet range and viz will be less than 10 feet. I've said it before, I remember when I felt I was invincible for diving... 20-30 years ago. But I got wiser, amazing how that works. Now I choose to not get trashed in the surf zone and dive when the viz is better. I can only pass along my experiences as a recreational diver. So again, I would not go out today. I expect some of these El Nino based storms to bring much higher surf, if it is anything like it was in 1997. That year we were out of the water for about 3 months, but guess what? We got back into the water again, so we will get back there.

Our plans for Saturday don't look very good due to the surf & viz. Even IF the surf dropped down today to 1 foot, I don't feel it will get better than 10 feet of viz, but that is my thinking, we'll see. Stay tuned, we'll figure out our plans by tomorrow morning.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
