Good morning Divers!!!
Saturday recap. I got to the mall and met some new divers and we talked about our dive plans and their experience. We car pooled up with the new people and headed for Crescent Bay. When we got there and went over the conditions, I decided I wasn't diving, with the largest sets breaking 3-4 feet, I just new it wasn't going to be worth it. Of the 13 of us there, 7 made it out for the dive. Some were on their way out and some large breakers convinced them to head back in. Good thing too, because as we were on 'Beach patrol' the surf kept increasing and less than on hour later, the largest breakers were 6-8 feet, that's big surf, with short to no interval between sets. We got everyone out safely and thanks to everyone who helped out. Viz was generally reported at 8-12 feet. So another day of low viz and surf not ideal to say the least. But the consensus was, we had to give it a try.

That big whoosing sound you heard over the weekend was the sound of OC having even less choices for dive shops with the announcement that the Sport Chalet is closing ALL of it's stores. I heard this on Friday night and I was surprised to say the least. So rather than rant about it, just have to deal with it.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. Well, the surf is pretty much the same running 1-3+ feet for the morning, but it is most likely to build throughout the day. Viz is still low and around 10 feet. If you find a decent spot for a dive, let me know about it.

Our plans are back to this Saturday. I just heard the news is saying there could be some rain in the forecast. Stay tuned.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
