Good morning Divers!!!
Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. Surf is low this morning at 1-2 feet with some 3 footers. I would think that viz should be improving and from the dive reports I've read, it depends on where you go, one report I read said Shaw's had 15 feet of viz and yet Abalone Point had 5-10 feet of viz. So today, I'll stay on the optimistic side and say viz should be 10-15 feet around most of Laguna. If you head out today, send me your dive reports.

In the back of my mind, I keep thinking about the recent Shark sightings in OC over the last week or more. I have been diving in about 5 feet of viz and came face to face with a 5-7 foot Shark at Reef Point, so I understand the idea of Sharks and possible interaction with divers locally. But my thinking is if the viz is fairly decent, say 15-20 feet, I would like to think the possibilities for issues with divers is lower. Plus diving as a group and the amount of metal on divers, I feel more comfortable about it. Since Laguna is protected and we know the amount of sea life is very high, I would think that the odds of interaction and getting a decent pictures of a Shark bigger than we normally see, should be pretty good. But use your common sense and do not do anything that would make them wonder if 'Is that food?'. I bring this up based upon some of the email I get about this topic.

Our plans are for Saturday. Stay tuned.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
