Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Show up for a scheduled dive and you will ahve plenty of others to dive with. Welcome aboard.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. When I got home yesterday, I saw the swell models and the 4-5 feet of surf and I thought "Uh-oh..." I won't tell you what I said after that. But with that kind of surf, viz is zero and you should NOT be out there, period. Today, it is even worse, I'll put it at 5-7+ feet of surf as I write this and again, viz is a big zero. Plus it is my guess the LBLG's have closed the city beaches to diving, 949.494.6573 to hear their recording, which is updated around 9 AM. Again, if you beach dive, you have no business being out there today. I was talking to the guys at the dive shop about how long we've been out of the water, it has never been this long. But I bring up my 'Word to the wise' of don't fall into the 'peer pressure' line of "If you don't go, I can't go..." I don't buy that, everyone has to make their own decisions about diving, I can only give you my recommendations. Today, I don't recommend diving, simple.

Our plans for Saturday are over, as in cancelled. I know that the surf will drop down tomorrow, but the viz won't improve, it takes 3-4 days at a minimum to get back to 10-12 feet of viz. So my is it worth it factor will be very low for this w/e. I don't know about Catalina yet, maybe there is some viz there??? Stay tuned, we'll look ahead to next Saturday.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
