Good morning Divers!!!

Begin Time: 9:12 am
Time: 37 min
Max Dept: 50ft
Temp: 63-69 F
Visibility: 15-20 feet
Conditions: Salt water, shore dive, low tide, small south swell waves, heavy surge, current.
Dive Buddies: Laura. Total 8.

The south swell was still around, but it was supposed to be small. Another 2 weeks of no diving because we've been hit by south swells. Visibility was good and it
will get better soon.

Laura and I arrived at the mall and Rich was talking to 3 new divers joining us for the first time. Because we had south swell for the past 2 weeks, we played it safe
and went to Deadman's Reef.

When we arrived, some big waves were hitting the beach and they were breaking very close to the shore. We suited up and entered the water. Timing was very
important. There are lulls in between sets and you have to pick the correct time to enter the water.

We dropped down and swam towards the reef. The visibility was pretty good. You can tell we were getting close to the reef because a lot of fish were around
greeting us. We hit the reef in the middle and swam up the wall. Up and over and back down into the canyon.

We stayed a while in the canyon checking out the sheep head fish swimming around the fighting Garibaldi fish were all around. I lead the group out of the canyon
and back over to the next canyon. There we stayed around for a bit.

We swam up to the top of the reef and one of our new divers was pointing at his gauge that it was time to head back. We swam down the wall and came across the
coffin and deadhenge. We swam along to the inner reef and followed it back in to shore.

We got out of the water and packed up our gear. We headed to Husky Boy's for food and conversation. It was a good dive and I think it was an indication that the
good season of diving is coming soon.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
