Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Just show up for a scheduled dive and you will have plenty of others to dive with. Welcome aboard.

Saturday dive recap. That is good to say for a change, I just wish the viz was better. We decided to go to Deadman's Reef at Crescent Bay. Surf was pretty low when we arrived, but started building during the next hour or so, up to 4+ feet of surf. We had about 15 divers show up and all made it out to the drop down spot, even with the strong current going up the beach, a W direction. Viz was not ideal at 8-12 feet, or as one of our divers put it, "A solid 10 feet of viz". Lots of sea life, but with the low viz, probably not idea if you were a newbie to diving. But everyone made it out ok and then we went to lunch at the Husky Boy. So not an ideal day for local diving, but everyone said nice to be in the water.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. I keep checking to see if a rain advisory has been issued, nothing yet. So there must not have been much rain yesterday. The swell models are on the 2 foot scale and that & the live cams show 1-3+ feet of surf as I write this, again, not ideal but manageable for experienced beach divers that can dive in low viz. Viz is running 8-12 feet right now. I was talking with others at lunch who wen to other dive spots, 5 feet was common for viz and it appeared to me Deadman's Reef had the best viz on Saturday. Even Catalina was so-so at 15-20 feet.

Our plans are for Saturday. Stay tuned.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
