Good morning Divers!!!
Saturday recap. We had 14 divers in the water at Crescent Bay to dive Deadman's Reef. The funny part was, one diver commented how she had never been there with us, when it seems at times we dive there so often due to the conditions. The tide was high and the surf was low at 1-2 feet mostly, although those 3+ footers would come in from time to time. Viz reports were all over the place, ranging from 15-30 feet. My conclusion was it depended where you were on the reef, some spots were very good, but up on top it was lower. Over in the kelp bed it was better too. Creature reports were interesting too. I hard reports of Yellowtail followed by reports of White Sea Bass, you can tell by the tail fin when you look at them to figure out which is which. There is also a picture in the SCD Gallery of a White Sea Bass, so you can compare there and in a Google search too. Plus reports of large bugs and a Swell Shark too. So with the decent conditions, a good day was had by all. We went to the Husky Boy for lunch & conversation after the dive. Thanks to everyone who showed up.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. The swell models are on the 2 foot scale and showing nearly all of the OC getting 1-2 feet, so I'll call it 1-3 feet of surf today. Viz will range from 15-25 feet today too. So if you go out today, drop me your dive reports.

Our plans are for Saturday. I see there could be some rain in the forecast, so we'll be watching that as well. Stay tuned here for more.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
