The rain is gone. After canceling the last two weekends, we were able to get into the water. The water is cold (55 degrees), the visibility was Laguna Beach normal
- 15 to 20 feet. The tide was moving to high.
Rich and I arrived at the mall a little late because of some road work going on the 405 at Bristol. We got a few returning again and then the regulars showed up. It
was foggy so I didn't want to dive Crescent Bay because we would not be able to line ourselves up to get to Deadman's. So we went to Heisler Park where we don't
have to line up the shore.
We raced on down to the beach and it was very foggy down there. The waves were small so it was going to be easy in and out. We suited up and swam out.
I didn't swim out that far like what the group does, so my half of the group started closer to shore. We dropped on down and headed east to the reef. I started up
the new camera and took some videos. I had problems with it stopping and I had to press the power switch to kill the recording.
We didn't go too far so we practiced using our cameras instead of exploring the entire reef. We did swim too far east because when we were coming back in, we
were getting to shallow. We popped up and saw that we were too far east so we dropped back down and headed west. We kept swimming west until we reached
sand and then headed north. In about 10 feet of water, we popped up and we were in front of the life guard tower.
Getting out wasn't a problem and we packed up our gear and headed to Husky Boy's for food and conversation. There weren't any unusual sea creatures on this
dive. Although the fish are getting bigger.
