Good morning Divers!!!
Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. The surf remains low at 1-2 feet mostly, but as I said yesterday, beware of waves that can be 3-4 feet at times. The water temps are above 70 degrees and I've heard as much as 75 on the surface. This is bad news for Kelp, it starts dying off at around 72 degrees, so we need the cooler water. I'm also hearing about people diving in bathing suits and t-shirts. Then they wonder why they only get 30 minutes of bottom time. Since most of your body temp loss u/w is lost through your head, you need top keep your head warm and body core temps up. Remember you can always cool off, but once you're cold u/w, you kinda screwed. Viz today should be 10-20 feet. I got a dive report from a couple of our divers who went to Catalina and did 6-8 boat dives there, viz ran 30-35 feet, so it's better out there, but that is considered lower viz for Catalina, but better than here in Laguna lately. Thanks Paul for the report. If you go out today, send me your dive report, I got my email fixed and I am now receiving emails again.

Our plans for Saturday will hinge on the surf, which is expected to raise in the next day or so. So stay tuned here.

I watched the news yesterday about the teenager who was badly injured crossing from Crescent Bay to Emerald Bay, when a large boulder from above him fell down and hit him. Sad to hear.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
