Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Show up for a scheduled dive and you will have plenty of others to dive with and gain experience in our local waters. Welcome aboard.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. The surf is staying in the 1-3 feet range. I noticed on Saturday that even though the swell models showed 1-2 feet around Laguna that the largest waves of each set was 3-4 feet, but with only one in each set, it was very manageable. But this S swell does that in the summertime around here. Viz is still running mainly 10-20 feet, although there is particulate in the water affecting the viz too. But it's the heat you need to pay attention to. I've said before, carry water in one or more bottles and dump it into your suit before you head to the beach, you'll still get warm going down to the beach, but it won't be quite as bad. Even though the temps are around 70 at depth, if you want decent bottom time, wear a hood. If you get too warm, a simple pull on your wetsuit will cool you off, but if you get cold, you cannot warm up. The warm water is causing the kelp to die off, that is not good. Send me your dive reports if you go out.

Our plans are for Saturday. I see that there is an increase of swell by Friday. We'll keep an eye on it, so stay tuned here for more.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
