The south swells were not hitting Laguna. We did have south swells earlier from the hurricane that was hitting Hawaii. It was a good day of diving and a busy day at
the beach for beach goers. The waves were not too large, but some good sized ones did pop up. The visibility was very good for this time of the year.

Rich and I met up at the mall to welcome a few new people. They had experience but first time with us. We decided on Crescent Bay to dive at Deadman's Reef. We
raced on down to the beach at 7:45 sharp!

We checked out the site and it was looking good. We suited up and entered the water. Timing was important and it was easy to go in once you waited for the waves
to clear. We swam out to the drop down point. We made our headings and descended down. The visibility was very good and we landed at inner reef.

We swam over to the western edge of Deadman's and when we reached that point. We headed east and came across the wall of the reef. We swam along it and
reached the eastern end and then swam on the back side. Lots of fish and many schools of fish too. We checked between the rocks and saw many lobsters.

We continued swimming to the north end of Deadman's and headed east again to find the canyons. Inside it was calm and those California Sheep Head fish were
very curious and watched what we were doing. Watch out for your fingers because they had that look in their eyes that they wanted to bite them!

When it was time to head back, we swam up and over the reef and came across Deadhenge and the coffin. We swam along Deadhenge and at the last boulder, we
swam north to the inner reef. Once we hit it, we swam east to the end and then swam north to shore. We surfaced in about 10 feet of water and swam the
remainder on the surface. Getting was a little tricky. A few big waves came and I just sat it out until they were gone and walked out without any problem.

We packed up and headed to Husky Boy's for food and conversation. It was an excellent day to dive. The sun came out when we finished but the visibility under the
water was very good. Especially at this time of the year.
