Good morning Divers!!!
Welcome those new to our list of local OC divers. Show up for a dive and you have plenty of others to dive with and gain experience in our local waters too. Welcome aboard.

Current diving conditions in Laguna Beach. Yesterday I said the swell models predicted an increase in swell/surf, yep, it's running slightly higher than yesterday 1-3+ feet. But it is predicted to drop down late tomorrow and into Friday. Viz is average for this time of the year running 8-15 feet around Laguna. Pick your dive site carefully if looking for viz, keep an eye n the surf today, there could be some surprises in the way of the waves. Send me a dive report if you go out today. I got a report from a night dive last night, Crescent Bay had 15-20 feet of viz, so not bad in that location, thanks Rich for your report (No that wasn't me making my own report).

FYI info. Someone in our group lost a red Nikon u/w camera at Mountain Ave on Saturday, if you find it let me know and we'll arrange it's return. Also, please keep in mind that some of you might be getting excited about the opening of Lobster season. Keep in mind that EVERYTHING is protected in Laguna Beach going 3 miles out and the DFW will cite you if you have any take at all. Considering it is about $1500 per violation, it's not worth it. So you need to hunt outside of Laguna. To know how large of an area that is, look it up on the DFW website & be sure to have ALL necessary licenses & report cards (If the DFW are still doing the lobster report cards).

Our plans are for Saturday. Keep in mind that the swell models show a BIG increase in surf for Sunday, up to 5-6 feet. So if you want to dive, right now it looks like the conditions for the w/e will be best on Saturday. Stay tuned here for more.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
