Good morning Divers!!! It's Friday!!!
Current scuba diving conditions in Laguna Beach. DON'T. I can't be much much more simple than that. The surf currently is running 6-10+ feet and can even be higher in other areas. WE DON'T DIVE IN THIS SURF, period. Ok, if that's not enough to stop you, we also have a rain advisory from the county too. Yesterday I was watching the news and they showed the water coming down Trabuco Creek and it looked a lot like black crude oil running down there, well, that has to make it to the ocean. By looking at the Google Maps, it appears to run into San Juan Creek. I also saw video on Malibu, surf was black too. Plus if none of that makes you want to stay out of the water, the viz is none existent at less than 5 feet. So it is not worth it & downright dangerous in our local waters today and the next few days. Plus it will take a couple of days after the rain advisory is lifted for viz to get back to 10 feet, so right now, the diving forecast does not look good. http://ocbeachinfo.com for more.

Gee, I wonder what our plans are for tomorrow?? Cancelled. We're already watching the weather forecasts for next week.

Since we can't dive, I see there is a special "Dive the Blue Hole" which is on Discovery & Science channels on Sunday at 1 pm, supposed to be a live event. Set your DVR to record it. I hope it's not another "Al Capone's Vault" type of thing. I got my DVR set to record it, so we'll see how it goes.

Stay tuned here for more and stay safe. If you get some pictures of the big surf, send them to me.

Diving!! DO IT!! Safely...
