Diver's Cove

All of Laguna is an MLPA area and everything has been protected since 2012.
So all of Laguna is a 'Not take' area.

At Diver's Cove, parking is the SAME (Exactly) as Fisherman's Cove (Boat Canyon) due to their proximity to each other. Feed the meters and avoid the "Invitation to the Policeman's Ball", if you catch my drift there.

This shot shows how "Close together" Boat Canyon and Diver's Cove are to one another.

Entries and exits here are very easy due to the sand. The reefs are on BOTH sides of Diver's Cove and photography here is very good especially at night when all the "Night Crawlers" are "Out & about". Diver's Cove is very well protected by the outer reefs in this area (Not to mention the DFG), and if you are into a "Long swim" there is a very good reef out in about 50 feet of water.

VIZ here can be excellent (30+) down to FRIMO (Facial Reflection In Mask Only). But at least the walk back up to your car is a "Breeze" compared to ALL the other Coves in Laguna. You can actually get your car pretty close to the beach here if the "Best spots" aren't already taken. There appears to be a sort of "Swim through" here, a sort of crack in the rock/reef. It looks like you can just swim through this, but reconsider, it narrows near the end and you could get stuck in here, word to the wise there.

During periods of high surf people have actually "Disappeared" from the rocks between Diver's Cove & Boat Canyon. If you see people up on those Rocks, think the better of it if it doesn't look safe, the waves have a lot of force here. It is NOT a good idea to be up on those rocks, try to convince others from going on that area.

There is a lot of Marine Life here, on the "Left side" (Facing the water from the beach). That area extends quite a ways out into the water. Before the El Nino year, this area used to be known for it's Kelp forest, but some things change whether we like it or not.

There's a funny story about this dive spot. A guy I have dove with once, dove here and he told me that as they were making their "Entry" it looked like some people were setting up for a Wedding, but these guys thought "Nothing of it". But guess what? As they exited, they came out of the water "Right in the middle" of this Wedding. Talk about "Crashing a party", I think this "Takes the cake".
I can almost "Picture it", can't you???
